Marcus & Millichap R.E. Inv. Svcs. hires Tham as investment specialist

Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services has hired Mack Tham as an investment specialist. "Mack brings a wealth of knowledge of the real estate market and investment sales to our firm," said J.D. Parker, regional manager. "His established relationships and local expertise will make him an invaluable asset in our Brooklyn office." Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Tham served as the director of sales at Massey Knakal Realty Services. He also served as the director of real estate and development at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, where he worked with property owners to reduce vacancy and provide incentives to real estate developers. Tham also previously worked as an asset manager for FGHP Investments in New York City, where he managed a portfolio of seven properties totaling 600,000 s/f of retail, industrial-flex and office space, and he oversaw the development of a 21,000 s/f shopping center and 78,000 s/f office building. Tham serves on the Board of Directors of the Chinese-American Real Estate Association and the Board of Trustees of the Queens Botanical Garden. He is an active member with other trade associations such as Rea l Estate Board of New York, Young Real Estate Professionals of New York, Green Drinks, Zoning for Jobs and a founding committee member of the International Council of Shopping Centers New York City Alliance Program. Tham earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Calgary in Canada. He graduated with a masters degree in Real Estate Development from the Columbia University, and a masters degree in Real Estate Investment and Development from the National University of Singapore. With more than 1,300 investment professionals in offices nationwide, Marcu s & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services is one of the largest commercial real estate brokerages in the nation focusing exclusively on real estate investments.
