Glen Cove, NY The $1 billion renaissance of the city’s 60-acre waterfront marked a new milestone with the topping-out of The Beacon at Garvies Point, a 167-unit, LEED-certified condo complex. The Beacon at Garvies Point, as well as the overall Garvies Point site, is being developed by RXR Realty in cooperation with the city. City officials and RXR executives were joined by representatives from Hunter Roberts, the site’s construction manager, to celebrate this construction milestone. The architect was Handel Architects.
Riverhead, NY National Grid awarded a $25,000 grant to Community Development Corp. of Long Island (CDCLI) in support of Peconic Crossing, a 45-unit, mixed-use, affordable housing development that provides a preference for artists and displaced storm victims. The development, a joint project of CDCLI and Conifer Realty, complements the town’s ongoing efforts for revitalization of the downtown area, including obtainable housing and promotion of the arts in walkable neighborhoods connected to the Peconic River.

Manhattan, NY TF Cornerstone and MSD Partners, L.P. intend to pursue redevelopment of Grand Hyatt New York adjacent to Grand Central Terminal in Midtown in collaboration with an affiliate of Hyatt Hotels Corp. (Hyatt). The new project would replace the existing building and create a 2 million s/f mixed-use development, including office and retail space, improvements to the public transportation infrastructure in the Grand Central Terminal transit complex and a new Grand Hyatt hotel.
Manhattan, NY Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has agreed to brand and manage 69 residences scheduled for completion in 2021. Mandarin Oriental Residences at 685 Fifth Ave. are being developed in a 1920’s building on the corner of Fifth Ave. and 54th St. The owners and developers of the project are SHVO, BLG Capital and Deutsche Finance America.
