SWBR, who has designed all of Summit's new branches including Penfield, Clarence, Hilton and North Buffalo will serve as the lead architect on the design and construction documentation, as well as perform construction administration services for both Summit locations. The project cost was undisclosed.
"We're thrilled to continue our relationship with SWBR Architects and for our continued plan for growth in the Rochester area," said Michael Vadala, president and CEO of The Summit. The Summit's Brighton branch will be 2,493 s/f and will be located at 1660 Monroe Ave. It will feature five teller stations plus a drive-through for teller transactions and a walk-up ATM in the front vestibule. SWBR plans to seek a Silver LEED Rating from the U.S. Green Building Council as the branch will incorporate sustainable design characteristics including the use of a ground source geothermal heating and cooling system. The system will provide comfort and efficiency; reducing energy usage by 38%. LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. The new Brighton Summit Branch would be the first project to apply for Silver LEED certification in Brighton (aside from a college or university).
