What advice would you give the next generation of women in your industry? Throughout my career as a commercial broker I was fortunate to have an All Star class of mentors that I considered “My cheat sheet to life.” I truly believe you need to be a sponge and absorb as much relevant information as possible and to learn as much as you can.

In the last 12 months, what was your TOP career highlight? In 2022, Douglas Elliman’s Commercial Division on Long Island experienced tremendous growth, nearly doubling the number of agents we have working full time.

2022 Women in Professional Services: Juhua Yang, LERA Consulting Structural Engineers

In the last 12 months, what was your TOP career highlight? I worked on the renovation of the Newseum in D.C. into a collaborative learning environment for Johns Hopkins University. I helped manage our team at LERA from the design phases through the construction. I was proud to witness the topping out ceremony and use my professional skills to give this building a new opportunity.

In the last 12 months, what was your TOP career highlight? The redevelopment of 34 Desbrosses St., a 200,000 s/f luxury residential complex in Manhattan, was my most interesting recent project.

In the last 12 months, what was your TOP career highlight? I was promoted to of counsel less than four years after joining Rosenberg & Estis as an associate. As this is a rank that can evade attorneys for years, I am very proud and gratified that my hard work and commitment to developing positive client relationships was recognized.

In the last 12 months, what ONE award were you most proud to receive? I received an award from the Women’s Builders Council for my work and contributions to my firm and team. The award is given to women in the industry who display commitment to increasing diversity and the role of women in the construction and professional services industries.

In the last 12 months, what was your TOP career highlight? I was recently promoted to accounting director in 2022. This was an incredibly great honor to me because I’ve been at BEB Capital since 2002. I started in the accounts payable and receivable department and have grown with the firm over the past 20 years.
