Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel expands at Rockefeller Center

Manhattan, NY Tishman Speyer said that law firm Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel LLP (ECBAWM) is growing its footprint at Rockefeller Center by nearly 40%. Located at 600 Fifth Ave., ECBAWM will move into a new space at 1 Rockefeller Plaza, enabling the firm to expand its primary office space from 16,000 s/f to 22,000 s/f.

ECBAWM is a litigation firm that handles an array of civil rights, commercial, criminal, and ethics-related matters.

Founded in 1998 in New York, today ECBAWM has one of the leading civil rights practices in the country and offers expertise in first amendment rights, employment and housing discrimination, class action litigation, disability rights, and more. The commercial litigation practice serves a broad range of clients including publicly traded corporations, individuals, and small businesses. ECBAWM’s criminal practice represents individuals and entities in investigations, appeals, and collateral proceedings in federal and state courts.

ECBAWM’s new office will be located at 1 Rockefeller Plaza, a 34-story class-A office building on 49th St. between 5th and 6th Aves. that overlooks the plaza and Rink. 1 Rockefeller Plaza is also home to the ZO Clubhouse, a signature amenity and multi-level lounge with interior and terrace seating surrounded by views of the city, available to those who work at Tishman Speyer properties as part of the ZO amenity platform. ZO also offers Global Access to high-end lounges, wellness services, and exclusive experiences at Tishman Speyer properties around the world. At Rockefeller Center, ZO amenities also include Radio Park, a 24,000 s/f green space on the roof of Radio City Music Hall; access to attractions such as The Rink and The Beam; and perks at retailers such as Catbird and Rough Trade, as well as dining options including NARO and Le Rock.

Rockefeller Center is a global icon, built nearly a century ago as a “city within the city.” Under the stewardship of owner and operator Tishman Speyer, the Center has embarked on a transformative campus-wide revitalization across its dining, shopping, art, leisure, and entertainment offerings, bringing in some of the city’s brightest and most creative talents.

ECBAWM was represented by Zev Holzman, vice chairman at Savills, along with Paul Revson of Emerald Realty. Tishman Speyer was represented in-house by Blythe Kinsler, Samantha Augarten, Joe Simon, and Kate Walker.

“Firms like ECWABM would be welcome anywhere in New York City, but they have already experienced firsthand that Rockefeller Center is the greatest place in New York to work,” said EB Kelly, head of Rockefeller Center and senior managing director at Tishman Speyer. “Coming to the office here means having the best of the city outside your door: the most exciting restaurants, the most enticing retailers, and the beauty and soul you can only find in the art and architecture. We’re proud the firm will enter its next phase at 1 Rockefeller Plaza, as they join the roster of those who have chosen to make the Center their home as they grow.”

“ECBAWM is thrilled to continue to be part of the Rockefeller Center community,” said Sam Shapiro, co-managing partner. “We have called the Rockefeller Center area home for the past 20 years and we are looking forward to this new chapter for the firm at 1 Rockefeller Plaza.”
