Elevate Research Props. partners with HYPOTHEkids to empower next generation of STEAM leaders

Manhattan, NY Elevate Research Properties, the life sciences subsidiary of Taconic Partners, formed a partnership with HYPOTHEkids, a nonprofit based in West Harlem that provides STEAM education and internship opportunities to NYC students from underrepresented backgrounds. This collaboration is part of a larger series of community-based collaborations to take place throughout the year. HYPOTHEkids will hold their engineering camp, 10th anniversary gala, and other events at Elevate’s West End Labs, a new life science building near Lincoln Center.

This partnership, alongside those yet to be announced for 2024, underscores Elevate Research Properties’ ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. By investing in the next generation of STEAM leaders in New York City, Elevate is helping to ensure a brighter future for the New York City life sciences industry.

“HYPOTHEkids is excited for this partnership with Elevate Research Properties and thankful that they opened their doors to students in our engineering camp and offered to provide complimentary lab tours that expose underrepresented youth to high-tech careers,” said Marisa Mitchell, executive director.

“By connecting us with their life science tenants and programming, they are helping to expand the range of training and internship opportunities we offer to low-income high school students who want to pursue STEAM professions.”

The partnership will encompass a range of initiatives including:

• HYPOTHEkids’ 10th anniversary gala (October 17th, 2024), which will be held at West End Labs. This event will celebrate the organization’s impact and showcase its students’ achievements.

• Spring Break STEAM NYC Camp at West End Labs (April 22-26, 2024), during which HYPOTHEkids will use West End Labs’ specialized conference and events space to host its week-long camp. The camp will provide middle school students with immersive hands-on experiences in engineering and creative thinking through an exploration of the landmarks and infrastructure of New York City.

• Summer Internship Program (summer 2024), where a select group of students will collaborate with Elevate’s tenant companies and other NYC-based science research organizations on real-world research projects. This program will create opportunities for Elevate’s tenants to serve as mentors and hosts for participating students.

“Elevate Research Properties remains committed to fostering a vibrant life sciences ecosystem throughout New York City,” said Peter Sheehan, director of amenities and experiences for Elevate. “Partnering with HYPOTHEkids allows us to extend this commitment by inspiring and nurturing the next generation of diverse STEAM leaders. We are excited to offer HYPOTHEkids access to our cutting-edge facilities and talented tenant community exposing them to exciting career opportunities and the transformative power of the life sciences.”

The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian

There was a time when an offering memorandum (OM) was pretty bare bones, some photos, a few bullet points on income, and a rent roll thrown in at the back. That used to get the job done. Not anymore. In 2025, buyers are sharper, faster, and more selective. They’re looking
