Consolo and Aquino of Pru. Douglas Elliman act for tenant in 2,200 s/f lease

Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph Aquino, executive vice president of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group have arranged a 2,200 s/f lease at 129 Grand St., between Broadway and Crosby Sts., for designer Yigal Azrouël's Cut25, a lower-priced, younger capsule collection that launched last year. The new location represents the Cut25's first freestanding store and the debut of designer labels on streets east of Broadway, near the new Mondrian Hotel. The more established sections of Soho, i.e., on Broadway and going west, are home to such other casual contemporary brands as Topshop, J.Crew, Lululemon Athletica, Scoop NYC and American Apparel. Prominent designers such as Vivienne Lam, Jil Sander, Derek Lam, Ted Baker and Agnes B also have flagships all along Broadway. "Yigal Azrouel's year-old label channels high fashion at 'luxe for less' prices and Grand St. at Broadway is the crossroads for both," said Consolo. "The Mondrian Hotel on Crosby Street is the game changer that is helping us reinvent Soho South for a new era of fashion." Aquino said, "We saw a potential to bring designers to Grand Street and this is a great beginning. In the same way that we opened up early Soho and other downtown areas like Nolita and Meatpacking, we are going to launch a new beginning here, too." Consolo and Aquino were the exclusive brokers for the landlord. The Kaufman Group represented the tenant.
