AREW becomes the newest chapter of the NY CREW network

According to the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW) and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network, AREW will become the newest chapter of CREW Network. After a vote of approval by AREW's board of directors and a vote of CREW Network delegates, AREW joins as CREW Network's 68th chapter. AREW will be an additional, independent chapter from NYCREW, both of which serve the important city's marketplace. AREW and CREW Network cited similar core values, missions, goals and programs, including long-term histories as staunch advocates of the success of women in commercial real estate, with an emphasis on business education and networking, membership diversity and charitable works including scholarship endowments, as providing a strong foundation for the affiliation. "Our becoming a part of CREW Network throughout North America will further strengthen AREW's established reputation as a premier New York real estate association as well as provide additional and invaluable benefits to being an AREW member," said Jennifer McCool, VP, The Related Companies, LP and 2008-2009 AREW president. "We are delighted to welcome an organization of such high caliber and rich history into CREW Network," said Jane Snoddy Smith, a partner with the international law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP and the 2009 CREW Network president. "AREW members will maintain all of their current benefits but, by becoming a chapter of CREW Network, benefits will be extended to include networking in the U.S. and Canada and enhanced educational opportunities including attending the annual convention, marketplace and leadership conferences," said newly elected AREW president, Rebecca Mason, principal and executive director, Caran Properties Realty. About AREW: Founded in 1978, over the past three decades the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW) has grown into one of the city's highest profile and largest real estate associations. AREW's mission is to contribute to the career growth and professional knowledge and skills of its members who represent the full spectrum of disciplines in the real estate industry. In addition to educational programs, networking events, tours and seminars, members are provided the opportunity to make a difference in the community through the activities of the AREW Charitable Fund. For further information about AREW: www.arew.org. The mission of CREW Network is to advance the success of women in commercial real estate. CREW Network does this by looking outward to bring more women into the industry, showcasing member successes and serving as a key resource to its members and the industry. CREW Network members represent more than 20 disciplines of commercial real estate - every type of expert required to "do the deal." Members comprise more than 8,000 commercial real estate professionals in 68 chapters across North America. For further information about CREW Network: www.crewnetwork.org.
