In the last 12 months, what was your TOP career highlight? I am currently working on an interesting upgrade of approximately 60 terraces at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan. Design revisions at this prominent historical complex required the Landmarks Preservation Commission’s approvals and involve renovations at nine buildings. The terraces are receiving new pavers, doors, and glass railings, which meet the DOB safety regulations without undermining the visual integrity of landmarked structures.

In the last 12 months how have you helped your industry grow through professional creativity, innovation and leadership? One of my team’s recent projects, the 18,200 s/f expansion of the Innocence Project’s offices in Manhattan, represents the latest trend of flexibility of use in workplace design. This innovative office features a lobby, pantry, and boardroom with movable walls that can all be combined into a large multi-function space for events, video conferences, and organization-wide meetings.

What advice would you give the next generation of women in your industry? In my experience, it is critical for a successful design career to continuously learn and keep abreast of the constantly evolving technological, aesthetic, and functional design trends and client preferences. In addition, the ability to communicate clearly with all team members benefits the work and helps build a portfolio of successful design projects and satisfied clients.
