How did you get your start in real estate?

My first job was Executive Director of a community based non-profit and I was charged with developing an affordable housing project in the Town of Huntington. I learned about all the challenges of securing municipal approvals for a multifamily complex on Long Island. A great education!

What real estate associations or organizations are you a member of?

The Association of Long Island Housing Agencies; The Long Island Community Development Organizations.

What recent project or transaction are you most proud of?

On May 19, 2016 we had a ribbon cutting ceremony for Wincoram Commons, a smart growth project located on the southwest corner of Rt. 112 and Rt. 25 in Coram. The development has 176 families living in our affordable rental apartments, with 9,000 s/f of retail. The development replaces a multiplex movie complex that had been vacant for 10 years and created a long term blight impacting the greater surrounding community. Wincoram Commons took 5 years to complete from initial concept to occupancy…record time on Long Island. This transformational development had broad community involvement and support and received substantial funding from local, state and federal sources, as well as private investment.
