What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? For the last several years, I have taken great effort to differentiate between the various segments of commercial real estate. For example, retail properties have broadly declined whereas industrial & manufacturing properties have been white hot.
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? I successfully brought LaMora, the first senior modular passive house affordable housing development in NY, online. The building was recently featured in Monica Makes It Happen on WPIX 11 and is receiving a BuildGreenCT Merit Award. I also oversee the Mulford Corp.
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? I am proud to have been part of the CBRE team representing Universal Music Group in its 336,000 s/f HQ relocation to PENN 2. This complex transaction required a highly coordinated execution that will create a dynamic, modern workplace for UMG, while also delivering specialized studio environments
What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of? It is very rewarding to be part of the MTA’s initiative to make New York City’s subway system accessible. This massive project includes retrofits of multiple stations located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. I manage Urbahn Architects’ team creating ADA accessibility paths
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? I always feel most accomplished when I see the design leap from the “paper” and into the ground. What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? When I joined Urbahn in 2023, I was tasked with leading the firm’s K-12 studio and overseeing projects for the Department of Sanitation. Amid leadership changes in these sectors, I’m most proud of not only maintaining, but strengthening existing client relationships.
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? I take particular pride in the Ulster County Emergency Communications Center in New Paltz, NY, which is halfway through construction. Urbahn is helping Ulster County create a vital new facility for their Department of Emergency Services.
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? Over the last few years, I have had the opportunity to grow into a leader within my firm, helping to spearhead the growth of our hospitality sector and leading diverse teams on complex transit projects across multiple delivery types, including large scale design-build projects.
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? I am honored to serve as design manager of the $2.9 billion Bronx Borough Based Jail team. It is one of the largest projects happening in NYC now, taking justice architecture in a progressive direction.
What recent accomplishment or initiative are you most proud of, and what impact did it have on your firm, clients, or community? As one of the firm’s newest and youngest owners — and among the first women in this role — I’m especially proud of leading impactful higher education projects while helping guide Urbahn Architects into its next generation. Recent highlights include the completed Lehman College Nursing School
How do you inspire, motivate, or mentor others within your organization? I am especially interested in training and mentoring our staff to provide high quality contract drawings and specifications, as this is critical to the successful execution of our clients’ projects. I have given training sessions to our whole office on the basic principles and best practices
What advice would you share with emerging professionals striving to become future leaders in commercial real estate? “Leadership is a people business — connect for partnership, not just answers, and you’ll move everyone forward together.”  Leadership is a people business. Success comes from connecting for partnership, not just reporting or asking for answers. Be prepared, confident, and empathetic, and use situational awareness to understand what motivates others.
