Studley, the leading global commercial real estate services firm specializing in tenant representation, has been named as one of the top 50 finalists in Crain's New York Business' 2013 "Best Places to Work in New York City" recent survey. The final rankings will be published in the publication's December 9 issue.
Winners are chosen based on the results of an employee-driven survey conducted by Crain's New York Business in partnership with Best Companies Group. Introduced in 2008, the study is the first ever conducted to determine the most desirable companies to work for in New York City. Studley has been consistently recognized as a leading company, making the list four prior years.
"We're thrilled to again receive this very special recognition," stated Studley CEO Mitchell Steir, who noted that the company works to promote "a collaborative and stimulating" work environment by providing opportunities for brokers and staff to not only succeed, but also become "lifelong learners."
In an effort to enhance collaboration and learning throughout the firm's many offices, each summer Studley flies a group of branch managers and other professionals to a select U.S. city for several days of professional development, team-building activities and networking. In addition, the firm's top producing brokers and many senior-level executives receive an all-expenses paid winter trip abroad, which incorporates the location's culture, provides networking opportunities, and often involves a community service element. Past locations have included Jerusalem, Beijing, Venice, Berlin, Tokyo, Panama and the Amazon.
Similarly, Studley sets itself apart from other organizations by way of its philanthropic initiatives, hosting numerous annual corporate giving programs across the nation. Studley is active in Commercial Real Estate's Women's (CREW) network and partnered with the organization to develop its Leadership Academy, a series of annual programs and events that provide professional training, leadership skills, and continuing education to women in the industry. Beyond supporting a meaningful organization, Studley initiated this relationship as a vehicle to help recruit a diverse workforce. This year's Crain's survey polled nearly 60% of New York City employees. Answers from a confidential 81-question employee survey, which included questions about benefits and policies, were combined with scores from an employer survey, to establish the Top 50 rankings.
