Spotlights

2023 Women in CRE: Samantha Testani, Cushman & Wakefield/Pyramid Brokerage Company

What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of? I am most proud of a recent property sale to Tim Hortons. The location, a former medical office, presented an opportunity for a new property-use that was needed. The property’s location made it viable as a QSR location and through my connections/resources I was able to secure Tim Hortons.

2023 Women in CRE: Mary Guarino, ERG CRE/Short Term Capital

What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of? My family has been in the business for over 30 years and actively lending. I was recently tasked with starting an additional company, branding it and marketing it to expand and take our lending business to a new level. It was difficult to create a new company while maintaining our credibility.

2023 Women in CRE: Julie Surago, Olive Tree Holdings

What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of? I have been deeply involved in every step of the acquisition of 150 duplexes in Fayetteville, Arkansas through a portfolio arrangement. As we work towards uplifting the community, we have successfully sold 27 duplexes, a single-family home, and a condominium, with three duplexes and another condominium under contract.

2023 Women in CRE: Barbara Kavovit, Evergreen Construction

What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of? I have worked on several exciting and significant projects recently and it would be too hard to choose just one. I am mostly proud of Evergreen’s accomplishment of playing such a large role in the world of real estate and being recognized by some of the largest landlords and corporations in NYC and continuing to be considered for major projects.

2023 Women in CRE: Camille Renshaw, B+E

What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of? B+E has become the top car wash broker in the country over the last two years, completing sale leaseback transactions, helping buyers with properties that provide bonus depreciation and other tax benefits, and helping corporate owners with other types of sales and development.

2023 Women in CRE: Lauren Crowley Corrinet, CBRE

What recent project, transaction, or accomplishment are you most proud of? This is a difficult market – and many are long on space.  While sometimes traditional subleasing is the best path, I have successfully developed creative alternative deal structures for several customers – some closed and some on the path to closure.  There is no better partnership than working hard in tough times.

Real estate innovation – an opportunity - by Sandy Klein

Empty office buildings. It’s nearly three years since the “return to work” predictions began. However, for quite some time now desks remain empty, floors remain empty, offices remain empty and buildings remain empty. Tenants no longer have the same space requirements and are downsizing.
