PWC honors Wincko of Tishman "Salute to Women of Achievement"

Professional Women in Construction (PWC), honored women leaders in N.Y.'s construction, design, and commercial real estate industry at its annual "Salute to Women of Achievement" luncheon, held recently at the Yale Club. Accepting the "Corporate Professional Achievement Award" was Amy Wincko, first VP of construction operations for Tishman Construction Corp., an AECOM company. Wincko has been with Tishman Construction since 2001. The award was given in recognition of the essential management role that Wincko plays in several of the company's landmark projects, including the 1,776 ft. high One World Trade Center, which will be the tallest building in the U.S., for the Port Authority of N.Y. & N.J.; the World Trade Center Transit Hub, in a joint venture with Turner Construction, for the Port Authority; and 4 and 4 World Trade Center for Silverstein Properties. Wincko also leads Tishman's team of corporate analysts. Tishman Construction is part of AECOM Technology Corp., a Fortune 500 provider of professional technical and management support services for government and commercial clients in approximately 125 countries around the world. John T. Livingston, President of Tishman Construction and Chief Executive of AECOM's Construction Services practice, proudly presented Wincko with the award, attesting "to her qualifications and extraordinary work ethic", based upon having worked with her for the past 10 years. "Amy personifies the new generation of construction executives who are essential for success in today's construction business," said Livingston during his remarks. "She's analytical, innovative, digitally adept, thinks globally, and understands the business side, as well as the technical side, of the business." At an early age, Wincko realized her interest in the construction field after working for an electrical contracting business in New Jersey that her father co-owned. Her journey into construction continued as she studied civil engineering at the University of Virginia. It was in 2001 that she says she "took a chance on Tishman, and they took a chance on me" by joining the company as construction analyst, a newly created position at the firm. It is evident that this chance was worth it. Earlier this year, Wincko was also named one of ENR New York's "Top 20 Under 40" professionals who are "shaping the industry's future." Over the last decade, Wincko has built a department of analysts to support its Headquarters and all Regional Office operations. She also monitors certain corporate operations, including Tishman's Virtual Construction Services/BIM Department and is responsible for creating business plans, operational reviews, and analyzing financial data for reports to senior management. Most recently, she assisted senior management in the merger this past July of Tishman Construction and AECOM Technology Corporation. Wincko lives in New Jersey with her husband, Ken, and their three-year-old daughter, Kaitlin.
