Peter Hunt

Buffalo, NY HUNT Mortgage, a leading name in the mortgage industry, is celebrating its 40th anniversary since its founding in 1984. Created to provide personalized home financing options to its customers and sales professionals, HUNT Mortgage has been an innovative leader in both product offerings and service delivery.

Consistent with the organizational vision, “Always There for You®,” HUNT Mortgage has followed market trends and delivered various noteworthy products along with traditional mortgage options to meet the unique needs of homebuyers and those wishing to refinance their current homes. Among the many product offerings provided by HUNT Mortgage are the “Low Rate Guarantee,” “Cash Closing Guarantee,” “The Second Look,” “The Pre-Purchase Commitment” and, given higher interest rates since March 2022, the “Date the Rate, Marry the Home” program.

HUNT Mortgage, along with the other core businesses of the HUNT organization, was recently ranked #5 among all US real estate and homeownership services organizations. Last year, under the leadership of President Karen Fuhrey, HUNT Mortgage alone closed loans valued at over $335 million.

At HUNT Mortgage we understand that customer needs are unique and varied. Our licensed loan originators are referred to as “Mortgage Consultants” because we believe in the importance of building a close working relationship with our customers in order to meet their specific situation and goals. The strong bond we form with all our customers has been a key to our success.

Throughout its history, HUNT Mortgage has adapted to the evolving landscape of the mortgage industry while embracing technological advances. Speed and accuracy are essential to accomplishing the goals of HUNT Mortgage customers. The company continues to navigate the constant changes taking place in the industry to ensure the delivery of superior experiences.

HUNT Mortgage is committed to the communities it serves, regularly raising funds for organizations like the United Way and participating in local charitable and philanthropic events. In just the last three years, HUNT Mortgage’s Community Lending Program has also provided over $250,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance to borrowers purchasing or refinancing within historically disadvantaged neighborhoods.

HUNT Real Estate Corp. chairman and CEO, Peter Hunt, founder of HUNT Mortgage, reflects on the anniversary milestone, said, “We are honored to have served many thousands of customers since our early days and humbled by the strength of the enduring relationships with our residential brokerage sales professionals. It is their trust and confidence that has allowed us to build this business and contribute to the career growth and success of our more than 70 mortgage company staff members.”
