Capital Region BOMA honors four properties with TOBY Awards
The Capital Region Building Owners and Managers Association (CR-BOMA) honored four of New York's Capital Region commercial real estate properties with their industry's highest honors at a celebration of the area's real estate industry at the Desmond Hotel on December 2. The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards, nationally acknowledged as the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind, recognizes quality in office buildings and excellence in management.
Properties recognized in unique categories: 8 Airline Dr., under 100,000 s/f; 400 Patroon Creek Blvd., Medical Office Building; 54 State St., Renovated Building and the Riverhill Center, Suburban Office Park (lowrise).
This year's award event will mark the third annual TOBY Awards in the Capital Region which is part of a national program recognizing outstanding buildings and properties throughout the country. Local winners have the ability to advance to regional competitions as part of the Mid Atlantic Conference. Two of last year's winners, 50 Wolf Road managed by OR&L and the College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering, went on to win 2010 MAC Regional TOBY in their specific categories.

The Capital Region BOMA will also be recognizing three individuals and one corporation for extraordinary contributions to the industry and their association: Gordon Furlani, CBRE-Albany, Member of the Year; Aimee Lang, Tougher Industries, Allied Member of the Year; Fred Berhaupt, Carrow Real Estate Services, LLC,Engineer of the Year and The Picotte Companies, Corporation of the Year.
