What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts?
Commercial tenants and designers continuously fine tune workplace concepts in order to encourage employees to return to offices, improve productivity and enhance collaboration. This is well represented by our recent project in Philadelphia, the 40,000 s/f new headquarters office of Publicis Health Media. This new office features numerous innovative hospitality elements that make the workplace environment more welcoming and comfortable. These include expansive pantries and social areas, multi-function spaces, desk hoteling, high-end lounge furniture and a coffee and drinks bar serving as a client and employee entertainment and work space.
What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2024?
Our most interesting ongoing project is the redesign of One World Observatory at One World Trade Center, which our firm originally designed 10 years ago. Montroy Architecture is currently developing design options for an outdoor observatory experience, which would be the highest publicly accessible outdoor space in New York City. Rooftop observatories and amenities are increasingly critical in attracting tenants and guests as well as increasing revenues in commercial and multi-family properties, and our firm has developed expertise in this type of projects.
