Queens, NY Part of the Astoria neighborhood is receiving a facelift. Developer Steve Lagoudis is making an investment in the borough by renovating two buildings on Steinway St. This project, which began last year, should be completed this summer. These buildings are being rehabilitated for two of Lagoudis' businesses: Re/Max Today and Mortgage World Bankers (MWB). Currently, Re/Max currently resides in a 2,500 s/f space located at 32-75 Steinway St., Suite 207, which houses 37 real estate agents. MWB rents 3,000 s/f at 32-74 Steinway St. for its headquarters. The company also has offices in Manhattan, Flushing, Brooklyn, N.J., Penn. and Fla.

"This new space will give both companies a more 'professional Manhattan' feel. Both class A buildings will give our employees and our customers a more executive environment to work in," said Lagoudis.

According to Lagoudis, both businesses are booming, and need room to grow. The turn-key business he has cultivated has bloomed over the past 20 years and now holds approximately 72% of the borough's western market sales.

Re/Max Today will occupy 32-56 Steinway St. This 5-story, 8,000 s/f building will feature a curtain wall glass front and 50 private professional-grade offices.

The second building involved in this project is located at 32-74 Steinway St. 50% of this building will be used by MWB for its headquarters. The exterior is limestone and curtain wall glass. 32-74 Steinway is made up of six stories, and contains a total of 18,000 s/f.

This project was designed by architect Kambanis. Kambanis is collaborating with NY Preffered Construction Corp., who is responsible for all concrete work; Joe Gulino of Structural Engineering Systems, PLLC is the project structural engineer; and Community Brokerage Insurance provided insurance for this project.

Re/Max Today is a real estate office offering residential and commercial building sales, as well as rentals, primarily in the Queens area.

MWB deals with clients looking to obtain financing for home purchases or refinancings. The company is a direct lender that has the ability to provide financing nationwide.
