Syska Hennessy promotes Noel to director of information technology

Frederick Noel

New York, NY Engineering firm Syska Hennessy has promoted Frederick Noel, an information technology professional with more than 17 years of corporate experience, to director of information technology.

In his new role at Syska’s New York City headquarters, Noel oversees IT operations across the company, supervising the entire corporate IT department and establishing its direction and goals.  He first joined the firm in 2013 as IT operations manager.

“Fred has worked closely with every team and practice at Syska, so he is well versed in the IT tools we use and depend on,” said Cyrus Izzo, co-president of Syska.  “But he goes beyond the objective of 24/7 uptime. He keeps abreast of developments on the horizon so that Syska will be able to apply new software and capabilities as soon as they’re available.  In short, he’s ideally suited to be our in-house IT ‘guide.’”

Before joining Syska, Noel held several IT leadership roles during a 12-year tenure at another global engineering firm.  Most recently, he served as its IT infrastructure manager for the USA region.

Noel received an Associate in Applied Science degree from DeVry College in Woodbridge, N.J.

Tri-state capital migrates nationally amid regulation pressure - by Reese Weaver

New York tri-state multifamily investors are increasingly reallocating capital to less-regulated markets across the U.S. as rent control and legislative risk erode returns at home. With over 60% of New York City’s rental housing stock classified as rent-stabilized, the traditional value-add model — buying under-performing buildings,
