Sabey Data Centers signs Datagram as its first mission critical office tenant at Intergate.Manhattan

Seattle-based Sabey Data Center Properties, one of the nation's largest privately-owned multi-tenant data center owners and developers, announced today that it has signed a lease with Datagram, a prominent Internet and hosting provider in the New York metropolitan area, for mission-critical office space at Intergate.Manhattan, Sabey's 1 million s/f facility at 375 Pearl Street. Datagram, which is also a brand new, Tier III data center colocation tenant at Intergate.Manhattan, will use the infrastructure to provide resilience to their office space. Datagram plans to relocate its entire executive team, sales force and its network operations center (NOC) from 33 Whitehall Street in Lower Manhattan to its new space. Datagram is the hosting provider for several of the world's most popular web sites. The company specializes in dedicated and managed hosting, colocation, Internet access and disaster recovery. John Sabey, president of Sabey Data Centers, said, "We are delighted to welcome Datagram as our first mission critical office tenant. Sabey has a 40-year history of building secure, high-uptime work spaces for the nation's defense industry, medical research and healthcare, and financial services sectors. Enterprise workforces that require an exceptionally high degree of physical protection and operational resiliency will be attracted to Intergate.Manhattan office space." Sabey said, "Intergate.Manhattan was purpose-built to withstand the most severe storms and was untouched by Hurricane Sandy. Likewise, across-the-board back-up generator power at 375 Pearl Street ensures that all operations will continue in the event of a black out. Very few office buildings in Manhattan offer back-up power for office operations." Michael Morris of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) represented Sabey Data Centers in the lease transaction. Sabey Data Centers designed the 35,000 s/f 14th Floor at Intergate.Manhattan as generator-backed, storm proof office space. The space is being offered as a 24/7 workplace, ideally suited to network operations and nerve centers, disaster recovery/business continuation work space, and highly secure trading desks. The space also has access to supplemental cooling. With fully diverse and redundant fiber plant routed throughout the building from the 6th floor; in addition to connectivity with all of New York's other major carrier hotels, Intergate.Manhattan offers unique connectivity through Intergate.Exchange (IGX), Sabey Data Center's exclusive carrier grade service which allows tenants to connect to any carrier across the country via one of Sabey's west coast or central Washington campuses. From Intergate.Manhattan, IGX can ensure both business continuity and disaster recovery capability. Sabey said, "It's your people who put the 'Mission' in 'Mission Critical.' When the chips were down with Hurricane Sandy, it was people who emerged to save the day. After the initial shock, stories of dedicated staff determined to keep critical environments operating and accessible for days on end were what made the difference between 'lights out' and sustained uptime."
