Contact Name : Roger Smith Company Name : BBS Architects, Landscape Architects and Engineers Email : [email protected] Phone : 631-475-0349 Fax : Address, City, State : 244 East Main Street, Patchogue, NY What was your greatest professional accomplishment in 2012? : BBS Architects, Landscape Architects and Engineers has continued expanding by winning new projects and offering new services in 2012. The value of our ongoing projects reached $220 million this year. We acquired the civil engineering and landscape architecture firm of Ward Associates and now provide complete architectural and engineering services to clients. We expanded into the Westchester and Lower Hudson Valley markets. I expect BBS to single-handedly increase the number of LEED-certified projects on Long Island by 50% next year. What was your most notable project, deal or transaction in 2012? : Continuing BBS' focus on green educational facilities, we are preparing to break ground for the 68,500-s.f. Life Sciences Building at Suffolk County Community College in Selden, NY. The new school aims at a LEED Gold certification and will house 1,500 students. It will create a new identity for scientific education programs at the college by displaying the school's inner works to visitors, including the real-time energy usage data. What are your predictions for commercial real estate in 2013? : We have experienced an increased number of inquiries from commercial and institutional clients and expect these two markets to improve in 2013. The K-12 school market, however, will likely remain depressed next year due to the unfavorable economic and legislative environment. What are your resolutions for 2013? : I plan to maintain my firm's regional leadership in the educational and institutional markets, particularly in the sustainable facility segment. The addition of civil engineering and landscape design services to our offering in 2012 allows us to provide complete design services to both public and commercial clients. BBS will be focusing on taking advantage of the wide range of its in-house services in order to win new clients and increase business from the existing ones.
