Queen’s Long Island City launches new website

Queens, NY One of New York City’s fastest-growing neighborhood just got a digital makeover. The Long Island City Partnership launched a new consumer-facing website for Long Island City, Queens – LICQNS.com (also available at LongIslandCityQueens.com) – that provides a complete guide for residents, workers and visitors looking to explore the area’s thousands of amenities, learn about ongoing development, and more.

From LIC’s waterfront parks and world-class museums, to printing and design services, flea markets and comedy clubs, and Michelin star to ethnic street food, visitors can now digitally explore the thriving neighborhood. LICQNS.com is a central source of neighborhood news, attractions, events and maps.

Among the site’s features are a business directory allowing businesses to submit their own details, a calendar of activities and happenings across LIC with an option for users to submit event info, sign-up for a “Partnership Perks” card to receive discounts at neighborhood shops and eateries, and sign-up for the weekly LIC newsletter emailed every Thursday.

The site also offers information and resources for potential business and residential investors highlighted by a development map and an “available space” bank, both continuously updated by the LIC Partnership.

“This new website is designed for all users to virtually explore LIC and discover new gems in the neighborhood,” said Jenna Petok, director of director of marketing & events at the Long Island City Partnership, who oversaw the website’s development. “Previously, there wasn’t a one-stop resource for all things LIC that allowed such easy access to this great information. We felt it was important to have a digital ‘welcome mat’ to LIC, including its more than 30 cultural institutions, open spaces, and the growing number of restaurants, stores and other businesses.”

“This new website is a great opportunity for promoting the businesses and cultural organizations to the public, many of whom might not be aware of the diverse mix of things to do, see and experience in this fast-growing neighborhood,” said Elizabeth Lusskin, president of the Long Island City Partnership. “The site also provides a trove of neighborhood data and information for businesses interested in coming to the area. We are excited to share this showcase of all that Long Island City has to offer.”

The LIC Partnership brought the new website to life with the help of developer and designer Blenderbox.
