Police Athletic League to honor Burger of Silverstein Properties and Lo Russo of Cushman & Wakefield at Tenth Annual Real Estate & Construction Luncheon

New York, NY On Monday, October 26th, the Police Athletic League will host its Tenth Annual Real Estate & Construction Luncheon, honoring Marty Burger, CEO, Silverstein Properties, Inc., and Ronald Lo Russo, president, New York Tri-State Region Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. The luncheon, held at The Plaza, Fifth Ave. and 59th St., begins with a reception at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 12:30 p.m. Tony Danza will serve as guest host for the event. As CEO of Silverstein Properties, Burger is responsible for leading the acquisitions and development efforts in the United States and abroad for Silverstein Properties. Prior to joining Silverstein, Burger was founder, president and CEO of Artisan Real Estate Ventures. In addition, he spent 15 years at Related and worked for The Blackstone Goldman, Sachs’ Whitehall Real Estate funds and The Related Companies. He is a trustee and governor of the Urban Land Institute, chairman of his Urban Development Mixed-Use Council nationally, on the executive committee of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center, a member of the Real Estate Roundtable in Washington, D.C. and a Board Trustee of the Battery Conservancy. Burger is involved with Habitat for Humanity, a board member of The Catalog for Giving, and oversees activities of the Downtown Division of the UJA Federation. As president of the New York Tri-State Region Cushman & Wakefield, Lo Russo is a key member of the executive management team in the U.S., reporting directly to the president and CEO of the Americas. He focuses on driving growth throughout the New York Tri-State Region and overseeing operations and performance of nine regional offices throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Among Lo Russo’s accomplishments is the launch and development of a training program for aspiring commercial real estate professionals, “PREP” and the strategic acquisition of key sales and management talent, strengthening the firm’s competitive advantage. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Lo Russo spent 16 years with Vornado Realty Trust. He is chairman emeritus of the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association and a junior board member of New York Cares. Co-chairs for the luncheon are David Arena, JPMorgan Chase & Company; Mitchell Rudin, Mack-Cali Realty Corporation; Matthew Van Buren, CBRE, Inc. New York City’s Police Athletic League is the first and finest civilian-run PAL in the country.
