Platinum Properties announce True as sales director

New York, NY Platinum Properties, a full-service family-owned brokerage, announced seasoned real estate executive Melissa True as its new sales director. In this role, she will focus on agent development and experience, driving quality growth and elevating the Platinum Properties brand. Bringing over 20 years of experience in New York City real estate, True joins the firm on the heels of its most successful year to date — surpassing $500 million in transactions.

True will be helping further Platinum’s goals of continued expansion in the New York City area. “But it is more than just the firm’s bottom line that we care about: The philosophy at Platinum Properties is to empower and educate our agents,” says Khashy Eyn, CEO and managing partner of Platinum Properties. “Our mission is to set new standards for brokerage company culture through the resources we provide that will foster an agent's growth, both personally and professionally. Melissa will be extraordinarily helpful in these critical areas as well.”

The position for the right candidate took the Platinum Properties executives nearly two years to fill. True “checked all the boxes,” said president Teresa Stephenson, “her robust experience in many sectors of luxury real estate, such as new development and resales, combined with her expertise in recruitment and talent acquisition, make her a unicorn of sorts. All of this in one person is very hard to come by.”

A strategic growth leader focused on driving recruitment, agent development, engagement, and talent acquisition, True will pull from her previous experiences working with top-tier real estate brokerage firms.

True was a founding member of TOWN’s executive team where she was responsible for integrated marketing, sales, research, development, retention, education and agent engagement. She later went on to hold the title of senior manager of Culture and Careers at Douglas Elliman where she was tasked with managing relationships with agents, developing growth strategies, maintaining company culture and supporting managers.

She will also pull from her lifelong love of the business. She has sold over $200 million in residential real estate. True holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Maryland's College of Journalism.

“Even though Platinum Properties is an established leader in the residential and commercial fields, it has been able to maintain its entrepreneurial spirit and warm ‘family company’ sensibility — and it is that unique combination of attributes I am excited to be a part of,” said True. “Because of this fantastic culture, I will be able to elevate the tools that can service an agent, poising them for growth and lending support to levels not seen before in our industry.”
