Passero-designed Bridge Square earns Buildings magazine's ABBY Award

Passero Associates revealed that BUILDINGS magazine selected the Bridge Sq. Building, located at 242 W. Main St., as a 2013 ABBY Award winner. The project, which earned a Grand Prize (1st) for Renovation, exemplifies innovative performance standards in commercial building design and operation. Now in its 8th year, the America's Best Buildings of the Year (ABBY) Awards highlight projects that set a new benchmark for facility managers to emulate. Bridge Sq. is part of a group of nine buildings that were showcased in the magazine's October 2013 issue. Submitted profiles were evaluated by the BUILDINGS editorial staff for the latest innovations in areas such as energy efficiency, sustainability, forward-looking design, purposeful renovation, and streamlined management. Project team members include: * Owner: Bridge Square, LLC * Architect: Passero Associates Architects and Engineers (submitter) * General contractor: Spoleta Construction * MEP engineer: Picard Engineers "Bridge Sq.'s purposeful renovation keeps an eye toward historical preservation while improving the functionality and efficiency of this mixed-use building," said Jennie Morton, senior associate editor for BUILDINGS magazine.
