NYSCAR's annual conference and upcoming programs

The planning committee has met to start the organizing for the 8th Annual NYS Commercial Real Estate Conference, sponsored by NYSCAR, the N.J./N.Y. chapter of CCIM, the NYS upstate and downstate chapters of SIOR and the Society of Exchange Counselors. The conference will be held June 1-3 at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona. This event has grown each year and offers something for everyone, including continuing education classes, a world-class marketing session, leasing roundtable, golf and the best networking ever! If you would like some outstanding exposure for your company, we invite you to be a sponsor at this premier event. Because of the challenging economic times we face, the committee has reduced the cost of sponsorships in half from last year! Sponsorships will be on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are interested in being part of this event, please email Ali Mann for a sponsorship form ([email protected]). In addition to our yearly conference, we have also scheduled some great programs for the spring throughout the state. On March 16, NYSCAR in cooperation with the metro L.I. chapter of NYSCAR will present an "Introduction to Creative Marketing of Commercial-Investment Real Estate," instructed by Robert Giniecki, CCIM, SEC. This three-hour c.e. program will be held at the Holiday Inn, Plainview, Long Island. On April 16, at the Hotel Sierra in Fishkill, NYSCAR in cooperation with the Hudson Valley chapter of NYSCAR will present "Creative Equity Marketing & Exchanging of Commercial Investment Property," instructed by Jim Wilson, CCIM, SEC and Robert Giniecki, CCIM, SEC (6 hours c.e.) On April 23, NYSCAR in cooperation with the western N.Y. chapter of NYSCAR will present "Investment Property Analysis and Creative Transaction Formulas," instructed by Robert Giniecki, CCIM, SEC. This 7-hour c.e. course will be held at the Holiday Inn in Amherst. Information on these programs will be available on www.nyscar.org. The board of governors will be meeting in late February in Fayetteville. In addition to the board meeting, there will be a strategic planning session. We are pleased to announce that we will be joined by strategist Jim Peters, RCE, CAE, e-PRO of South Carolina who will serve as a moderator for our strategic plan. Maureen Wilson, CCIM, SIOR, is the 2009 president of the New York State Commercial Association of Realtors, Albany, N.Y.

The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian

There was a time when an offering memorandum (OM) was pretty bare bones, some photos, a few bullet points on income, and a rent roll thrown in at the back. That used to get the job done. Not anymore. In 2025, buyers are sharper, faster, and more selective. They’re looking
