NYcrew to celebrate 10th Anniversary November 29

NYcrew Network, the New York chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Women Network (CREW), is celebrating its 10th Anniversary and the start of the holiday season at the Columbus Townhouse, 8 East 69th St., on Tuesday, November 29th, at 6:30 p.m. The evening will begin with cocktails, followed by a dinner and awards ceremony at 8 p.m. Co-chairing the celebration are Faith Hope Consolo, chairman of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group and NYcrew 2011 board member/director of communications, and Christine Chipurnoi, senior vice president of Wells Fargo Insurance Services of New York, and NYcrew 2011 board member/secretary. Also serving on the 10th Anniversary planning committee are Leila Larjlani, vice president of investments for UBS Financial Services, Kennetha Pettus, executive director of Unified New Cassel Community Revitalization Corp., and several of NYcrew's five 10-year members. Karen Dome, 2011-12 NYcrew president and chairman of the board, and a senior associate of Marcus & Millichap, said, "NYcrew is the organization of choice for women of influence in commercial real estate in New York. And now that we've reached this seminal milestone as a preeminent resource and referral network for women and men in the industry, we have a lot to celebrate!" Founded in late 2001, NYcrew has helped women achieve status in commercial real estate through power, influence and opportunity. It offers members leadership development, networking, community outreach and relationship-building opportunities, and sponsors several educational seminars and panels, such as the Industry Spotlight and Leading Ladies series. Among this year's highlights was the organization's debut at the International Council of Shopping Centers' annual RECon convention in Las Vegas and joint golf outing with the Association of Real Estate Women. Various programs during the year included discussions with leading economist Dennis Yeskey, and such informative programs as "The Women of the NY Real Estate Families," with Helena Durst, Andrea Olshan and Lisa Silverstein, and "Women Who Shaped New York," featuring R. Kristian Roebling, Claire Weisz, Andrea Woodner and S. Courtney Clark. Another group of discussions offered insight from "Leading Ladies" Marilyn Kane of Irdium, Pat Goldstein of Emigrant Savings Bank, and Barbara Champoux of Crowell Moring LLP. The most recent Industry Spotlight, focusing on the synergies between retail and hospitality, featured Faith Hope Consolo, Riyaz Akhtar of Hampshire Hotels & Resorts, Andrew Jackson of the Hudson Companies, and Amelia Lim of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, with Barbara Champoux moderating. Throughout the year, the organization also sponsored members-only networking events that included makeovers at Chanel and champagne rooftop celebrations. Upcoming seminars are being planned with such prominent guest speakers as Annemarie DiCola, a director on the Trepp Executive Board and the first woman President of the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association (now known as the Commercial Real Estate Financial Council). "We've had an exceptional year in 2011 and are planning an extraordinary 2012 for our members," Dome said. "As the oldest New York chapter of CREW, NYcrew provides unlimited opportunities through its connection to CREW's national organization. For this very special anniversary, we have also invited our sister chapter Association of Real Estate Women (AREW) and CREW chapters from Connecticut and New Jersey to join us." Tickets for the 10th Anniversary are $85 for NYcrew members, $110 for CREW members and $125 for non-members. Tickets and additional details regarding sponsorship opportunities and this year's award recipients will be available at NYcrew Network's website, http://nycrew.org/node/89 or www.nycrew.org.
