Manhattan Skyline Management welcomes Empire Cake to 450 Sixth Ave.

Manhattan, NY According to Manhattan Skyline Management Corp., bakery Empire Cake has opened its second location at 450 Sixth Ave. between West 10th and West 11th Sts. in the West Village.

Empire Cake is a classic American bakery with a gourmet twist. The bakery’s new 6,700 s/f location features 24 ft. of store frontage on Sixth Ave. with space located on both street and basement level.

Joshua Roth, senior vice president of retail at Manhattan Skyline Management represented the landlord in the long-term lease transaction. Empire Cake was represented by Elliot Wygoda and Ben Biberaj of Meridian Retail Leasing.

Empire Cake’s new space is located at the base of Manhattan Skyline’s The Villager, which is situated within the Greenwich Village Historic District. Built in 1902 and used as a commercial structure, The Villager was converted into 33 luxury residential units in 1981.  The building’s unique apartments and ideal location have made it one of the iconic neighborhood’s most desirable rental residences.

“Empire Cake’s sophisticated treats and inviting window displays are sure to delight our residents at The Villager as well as locals and regular visitors to the neighborhood,” said Roth,. “The bakery is a strong addition to this vibrant West Village corridor, and we are pleased to be a part of their continued success in the city.”

All items served at Empire Cake are made fresh daily using the finest ingredients, including butter and cream from quality local producers, pure whole vanilla beans, Belgian chocolate and seasonal produce from the Union Square Greenmarket.  Empire Cake offers custom-designed cakes and party favors ranging from traditional tiered wedding cakes to one-of-a-kind creations for birthdays, corporate events and fashion editorials, and delivery is available throughout the tri-state area.

“Baking is our passion, and being able to share our creations with New York City is a dream come true,” said Jim Genovese, co-owner of Empire Cake. “We can’t wait to introduce our Empire Cake brand to a new audience as our business continues to grow.”

Neighboring tenants at 450 Sixth Ave.’s adjacent storefronts are Japanese grocery Yamadaya, wine and liquor store Village Vintner and Ansonia Pharmacy.  Additional nearby retailers include La Contenta Oeste, Starbucks, Blue Mercury, CVS, Chipotle, Verizon, Playa Bowls Citarella Gourmet Market, The UPS Store and Lincoln Market.
