MacAneney joins Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck as partner
According to Kaufman Dolowich &Voluck LLP (KDV), one of the leading national law firms, J. Robert MacAneney has joined the firm as a partner. MacAneney has 20 years of experience in all aspects of insurance coverage law on both the corporate and law firm side. MacAneney's practice will focus on coverage disputes and litigation matters involving professional errors and omissions, directors and officers, fidelity, miscellaneous professional liability and employment practices liability. MacAneney comes to Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck from American International Group (AIG, N.Y., NY), where he managed a large caseload of some of their highest profile coverage and bad faith lawsuits for the Financial Lines coverage group. At AIG, he oversaw all litigation strategies and participated in all settlement discussions, mediations, arbitrations and trials. Prior to that, MacAneney managed the Professional Liability Claims department for RLI Insurance Company (N.Y., NY). He has also handled professional liability defense and general commercial litigation at leading law firms in N.Y.C.. "Having spent more than a decade working for insurance companies has given me insight into what their unique needs are, what demands are placed on the adjusters and what is expected from a legal perspective to satisfy their needs on a timely and professional basis," said MacAneney. "Having first worked in private practice before joining insurance firms, I understand the realities of both worlds and can provide a viewpoint and level of service that the insurance industry requires. I look forward to building a multi-faceted coverage litigation practice grounded in the knowledge and experience I have attained from the corporate and legal worlds." He is admitted to practice in N.Y. and Connecticut and the United States Supreme Court, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of N.Y.. He is a member of the N.Y. State Bar Association (NYSBA) and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).
