Lovatt of Massey Knakal Retail Leasing secures four leases on the Upper East Side totaling of 2,100 s/f

Massey Knakal Retail Leasing Services has secured four retail leases on the Upper East Side totaling 2,100 s/f. The retail space at 253 East 78th St. contains 400 s/f on the ground floor and 300 s/f of basement space with 19 ft. of frontage on 78th St. The retail space on 243 East 78th St. contains 450 s/f with a 100 s/f basement and 18 ft. of frontage on 78th St. Both buildings are located between Second and Third Aves. Located between First and York Aves., 444 East 81st St. contains 350 s/f with 13 ft. of frontage on 81st St. The north retail space at 1386 Second Ave., located between East 71st and 72nd Streets, contains 500 s/f with 10 ft. of frontage on Second Ave. "We are pleased to see that the Upper East Side retail leasing activity continues to improve. Over the past several months, we have secured four additional leases on the UES and are marketing 14 retail locations including 3,100 s/f at 1100 Madison Ave.," said Jill Lovatt, director of retail leasing, who exclusively handled these transactions. What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts? I would like to say there was an outstanding transaction for me this past year but 2024 was more a culmination of long-term relationships, most of which continued to transact. Deals were smaller in many cases but we saw robust leasing both on the agency side as well as on the tenant side.
