Urban Edge Properties launch Grab n’ Go program

June 16, 2020 - Shopping Centers

New York, NY Urban Edge Properties has launched dedicated Grab N’ Go parking spaces at select New York, New Jersey and Puerto Rico properties to allow flexibility for those customers looking to pick up items they’ve ordered online either via contactless delivery or with a short trip to the store. As local guidelines permit, stores and restaurants can connect with their customers and determine the best way to deliver their goods and services. 16 properties have rolled out the new amenity including spots at Bergen Town Center in Paramus, N.J., Hudson Mall in Jersey City, N.J. and Burnside Commons in Inwood, N.Y. Additional properties will launch the program throughout this month and July. Restaurant and other essential retailers are already using the spots.

“As guidelines shift, our tenants and customers are navigating the new normal. We are committed to creating the best environment to serve both of these audiences,” said Chris Weilminster, EVP and COO of Urban Edge Properties. “With these designated Grab N’ Go spots, we are giving our guests and tenants the flexibility to choose what works best for them while remaining committed to their health and wellbeing.”

Some tenants are not able to offer curbside or contactless car delivery so these spots offer the most flexibility to provide options to customers if they need short-term parking to run quickly into a store to pick up an order or drop off a return. All the spots are close to store entrances to allow retail staff to leave the store for as short a time as possible when completing a delivery while putting the customer up front to make their trip fast and convenient.

As more tenants are able to reconnect with their customers, additional operational shifts are taking place throughout Urban Edge’s properties to continue to improve guest comfort and prioritize their health and wellbeing. Enhanced and more frequent cleaning programs, increased staff presence and graphics to encourage physical distancing are being installed and implemented. At enclosed centers, increased hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the common area.
