Kurth elvevated to AIA College of Fellows

Carol Weissman Kurth has been elevated to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) College of Fellows, an honor conferred on licensed architects for significant contributions to architecture and society and for those who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Kurth is one of 104 honorees who will be inducted into the College of Fellows at an investiture ceremony on May 13 at the 2011 National AIA Convention and Design Exposition in New Orleans. The AIA has a membership of 80,000 licensed architects worldwide, and there are fewer than 2,700 members distinguished with the honor of fellowship. Kurth is an award-winning architect and interior designer, and is principal of The Office of Carol J.W. Kurth, AIA Architect, PC,. Her distinguished body of work is notable for its elegant and imaginative integration of materials and landscape within residential and commercial architecture. "I am humbled to receive such prestigious recognition from my peers within the profession. As an architect, mentor and teacher, I am delighted to have the opportunity to engage people - my clients, my staff and especially my students - in the creative process and to encourage an understanding that architecture influences our daily lives and that design matters."
