Faith Hope Consolo of the New York chapter of CREW Network discuss their careers and accomplishments

Name: Faith Hope Consolo Title: Chairman, The Retail Group Company/firm: Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate Address: 575 Madison Avenue 3rd Floor New York, NY 10022 Telephone: 2124182000 Email: [email protected] URL: www.faith-consolo.com Real estate organizations/affiliations: Real Estate Board, AREW, NYCREW, CREW, YM/WREA, ICSC, Retail Marketing Society, The Fashion Group, Luxury Institute, etc. During the last 10 years of your career, which professional accomplishment, honor or achievement was most meaningful to you and why? Being named a "Prudential Legend" this year was an amazing honor, because it is given only to those who have achieved a certain level of success for five consecutive years. That consistency, particularly during the worst downturn our industry has experienced in generations, is what I've always striven for in my career. Anyone can have a great year during a boom-but real success comes from working hard and achieving year-in and year-out, regardless of the economy. Which project, deal or transaction was the "game changer" in the advancement of your career during the last 10 years? It's not exactly a "game changer" but our brokering last year's sale of the Felissimo/Elizabeth Taylor townhouse to Carlos Slim certainly reminded people that the services of The Retail Group extend far beyond leasing. We did that deal in just five days, and it really highlighted our other capabilities, including valuation, international financial reach (that deal included calls to Mexico and Japan), and flexibility. How do you contribute to your company and / or the industry? I'm focused on the future of both, having established mentoring and internship programs at PDE, serving as a board member of NYCREW, actively supporting AREW, serving on the ICSC RECon educational planning committee and chairing its Special Industry Group for women in retail and real estate. I was lucky to have wonderful mentors early in my career, and now I'm trying to do the same.
