NYCREW was formed in 2001 to provide opportunities for women to achieve success in commercial real estate through power, influence and opportunity. As such, we are seriously committed to "doing business" together, and the organization is geared towards supporting and encouraging that commitment. Its membership is comprised of women from a broad range of disciplines within the commercial real estate industry including: financial services, asset and property management, developers, owners and operators, investment and property brokerage firms, appraisers, accountants, architects, attorneys and consultants. Founded in 1989, CREW Network is the commercial real estate industry's premier networking organization dedicated to supporting the achievements of women in the industry. It currently has over 8,000 senior real estate professionals as members, who are located in 74 major markets across North America. We seek to influence the success of the commercial real estate industry through four key initiatives: business networking, leadership development, industry research and career outreach. How do you contribute to your company and / or the industry? I am a senior associate of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services. Acting as a real estate advisor for all property types and working out of the NYC offices. My expertise is in the sale of retail shopping centers, net-leased assets, multifamily investments, office, hotels, industrial and special assets. I have been a strong leader in the New York commercial real estate industry for more than 20 years. What advice would you give to women just starting out in commercial real estate? Look for a mentor or network to get you the professional development and skills you need. Maintain always the highest professional and ethical standards in a collaborative environment. How do you manage the work/life balance? Hard work and finding enough time to do the important things in life. How are you using social media to promote yourself and/or your firm? I see the important part social media has come to play in today's market and I utilize LinkedIn as a tool to connect with clients and for branding. As for Marcus & Millichap, data and technology has always been an emphasis. It is their commitment to look constantly at the next wave of technology innovation and determine how to improve the entire client-service continuum. They look beyond general trends like social networking to custom solutions for each client group and agents. Where would you like to be 10 years from today? I would like to be on a beach in Miami or South of France doing my Real Estate deals.
