WNY Facilities ExpoHamburg, NY The WNY Facilities Management Expo was held on Wednesday, October 21 and welcomed record attendance for it’s 20th year. This year, the event had a new location at The Event Center at the Hamburg Fairgrounds, as well as an earlier date, and extended hours compared to previous years. These changes allowed the event to accommodate the increased demand from attendees, including more space, better parking, and an improved expo atmosphere.

“We were able to grow by over 40% through our vendors at this new location,” said Nancy Boyd Haley, show manager for the Facilities Management Expo. “This played a key role in the increased attendance of visitors.” The event caters to anyone responsible for any facets of building management, including facility engineers, building owners and superintendents, property managers, purchasing agents, maintenance personnel, realtors, developers, contractors, architects, and any managerial staff. This expo is considered one of the largest of its kind in the region – which draws vendors and visitors from Western New York, Northeastern Pennsylvania, and Southern Ontario, Canada. Vendor industry categories ranged from roofing, solar energy, alarms, cleaning supplies and services, flooring, fire and carbon monoxide protection systems, furniture, LED lighting, signage, painters, recycling services, air quality, safety equipment and more. Visitors were able to attend various seminars throughout the day, which covered a wide array of facility management topics, including information about carbon monoxide code requirements, HVACR Maintenance, and green cleaning. This was in addition to demonstrations, and one-on-one consultations from the vendors. “This event was incredibly resourceful for area businesses, and it was great to see so many new faces,” said Boyd Haley. Several non-profit industry associations were represented at this event, including: The Institute for Supply Management (ISM Buffalo), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA Buffalo), Construction Exchange of Buffalo & WNY, Inc., and Home Improvement Council of Western New York. Information and announcements about next year’s event will be made on the event’s website at fmexpo.net.
