exhale opens 2,000 s/f spa at O'Connor Capital Partners Manhattan House
Exhale has opened its first residential location in the city at Manhattan House. The opening of the rooftop-level mind body spa marks owner and developer O'Connor Capital Partners' completion and delivery of all amenity spaces in the building. The 2,000 s/f rooftop spa space features a mind body studio with a therapy room, meditation lounge and tea bar. NEMAWORKSHOP, the interior design firm founded by Anurag Nema, designed the exhale spa.
"We knew from the start that the exhale brand would be the perfect synergy for Manhattan House," said Brian Fallon, a partner of O'Connor Capital Partners. "Exhale's commitment to the highest quality, hand-selected equipment and services matches O'Connor Capital Partners' dedication to the re-engineering of Manhattan House every step of the way."
"We are proud to open our first residential location in Manhattan at such an esteemed building as Manhattan House," said Annbeth Eschbach, founder and CEO of exhale. "O'Connor Capital Partners has gone above and beyond to deliver a comprehensive array of holistic residential amenities at this condominium."
Designed to help residents wind down upon entering and feel energized when leaving, the space features environmentally friendly materials and establishes a connection between the spa environment and nature. Salvaged barn wood is used for accent walls and doors, local tree logs for furniture and reclaimed liana branches create a layer of nature between the spa and Manhattan skyline. Bold colors are infused with these natural elements.
"Color plays a prominent role in setting the mood and energy of each area. The spa lobby incorporates a primal orange color, which has a warm hue that energizes and invigorates the mind and body," said Orit Kaufman, principal of NEMAWORKSHOP. "The studio ceiling has giant green grass wallpaper with highlights of yellow daisies. Photographed by Amanda Weil, the wallpaper allows one to completely submerge in pseudo-nature."
Located at 200 East 66th St., Manhattan House is a post-war condominium built to pre-war specifications. Designed in 1950 by Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate Architect Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and designated a historic landmark in 2007 by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, Manhattan House is set within private gardens and features one to five-bedroom residences.
In addition to the exhale amenities, Manhattan House features full-time doormen, five-star concierge services, and porte-cochere entrances on the tree-lined, two-way 66th Street, as well as on-site garage and valet service. Residents enjoy the stunning 10,000 s/f rooftop level featuring the Randall A. Ridless-designed Manhattan Club which has an outdoor terrace and indoor library and lounge for residents' enjoyment and relaxation, as well as morning coffee, pastries and newspapers. Manhattan House also features a Roto Studio-designed children's playroom and one of Manhattan's largest private residential gardens.
