David & Young renew and expand lease with Joseph P. Day Realty Corp.

Joseph P. Day Realty Corp., a leader in the real estate services industry, has renewed its lease with David & Young and expanded their space at the New York Accessories Exchange (NYAE) building at 366 Fifth Ave. "David & Young is a fashion forward company committed to supplying retailers with the latest in fashion accessories," said Richard J. Brickell, director of leasing and management at NYAE. "We're pleased that they chose to renew and expand with us and look forward to a continued relationship." Formerly on the 5th floor, David & Young-a design house for accessories that specializes in supplying high quality hats, scarves, sunglasses and other accessories-is now in a larger showroom space on the 7th floor, leasing 3,824 s/f. The company supplies to major retailers including Macy's and Nordstrom. "We welcome buyers and retailers to visit our beautiful new showroom to preview our newest collection of D & Y hats, scarves and fashion accessories at 366 Fifth, the premier accessories venue," said John Yoo, president of David & Young. "Business is growing and we are thrilled. Our primary brands D&Y and Softer Than Cashmere can be seen on celebrities including Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan and Taylor Momsen and the staff of Gossip Girl." NYAE is New York's premier fashion accessories trade building, offering loft-style showrooms and close proximity to the Fifth and Madison Avenues retail venues.

What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts? I would like to say there was an outstanding transaction for me this past year but 2024 was more a culmination of long-term relationships, most of which continued to transact. Deals were smaller in many cases but we saw robust leasing both on the agency side as well as on the tenant side.
