Carmina Wood Morris receives awards for two Buffalo projects: Phoenix Brewery Apartments and The Delavan

Buffalo, NY According to Carmina Wood Morris (CWM), a leading architecture, engineering, and interior design firm, Buffalo Business First has selected the Phoenix Brewery Apartments to receive an award for Excellence in Historic Preservation and The Delavan to receive an award for Best New Restaurant/Retail. The citywide awards program honors the best projects in the real estate and development community. Winners were announced during the ceremony at The Lexus Club at KeyBank Center.

The Phoenix Brewery was a notable project in the Historic Preservation category for its achievements in retaining, promoting, and reusing the state’s architectural heritage. The building’s rebirth included 3,000 s/f of commercial space and loft apartments with exposed brick accents, tall ceilings, polished concrete floors and high-end finishes.  Containing 15 one-bedroom and 16 two-bedroom units ranging in size from 714 s/f to 1,314 s/f, each has a unique layout and several have second level loft areas. This market-rate residential development is within the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. In addition, Sinatra is donating 10% of project profits to Say YES Buffalo, a community education collaborative aimed at increasing high school and post-secondary completion rates.

The Delavan is a 60-room boutique hotel adjoined to Salvatore’s Italian Gardens. The $9.5 million project added a 4-story, 47,000 s/f structure that includes luxury-style suites, with a fitness center and full-scale spa run by Capello’s. 

CWM was excited to join the Salvatore family in this grand project, and are honored to be recognized as the best in this year’s restaurant/retail category.
