BOMA/NY prepares for the tenth anniversary of 9/11

On September 14, BOMA/NY will present Remembrance & Renewal, a program dedicated to the tenth anniversary of 9/11 at Battery Gardens in Lower Manhattan. The commemoration will feature a brief tribute video listing the names of all those working for BOMA/NY member companies who perished in the tragedy that day, as well as a look forward at the many accomplishments made by our industry in safety, security, emergency response and training since that day. The event planning committee has extended keynote address invitations to New York area government officials and elected representatives, and work is underway to coordinate an industry-wide "moment of silence" at 8:46 a.m. on Sunday, September 11th, to honor those we lost that day. Serving on the planning committee are: chair - Anthony Lifrieri, RPA, Silverstein Properties; Michael Copperstone, RPA, American Building Maintenance; Edward Fallon, RPA, Brookfield Properties; Jim Halpin, Platinum Maintenance; James Kleeman, RPA, Related Management Co., LP; J.D. Maarleveld, Harvard Maintenance; Louis Mantia, Cushman & Wakefield, Inc.; Kevin Mulligan, Mulligan Security, and Louis Trimboli, RPA/FMA, CBRE, Inc. Sponsorships with varying levels of benefits - some including a table at the luncheon and extensive recognition - are also being sought to help defray program production costs for the video tribute, as well as a commemorative pin and related event staging costs. Sponsorship levels are: Spire- $25,000, Crown - $10,000, Tower - $5,000, Plaza $2,500 and Foundation/Contributor - less than $2,500. Individuals interested in sponsorships should contact BOMA/NY executive director Roberta McGowan, CAE at [email protected].
