Ariel Property Advisors holds bi-annual Coffee & Cap Rates “Challenges & Opportunities in Today’s Market”

Manhattan, NY Nearly 200 New York City real estate professionals joined Ariel Property Advisors at its bi-annual Coffee & Cap Rates event in Midtown on July 26. The networking breakfast was exclusively sponsored by AmTrust Title and featured a panel of some of NYC’s most influential real estate executives to discuss the event’s theme: Challenges & Opportunities in Today’s Market.

Shimon Shkury, president of Ariel Property Advisors, spearheaded the event on Park Ave. at Club 101 with a presentation on NYC investment property sales in the first half of 2018, referencing the firm’s newly released mid-year research reports. He also talked about the current state of the market and provided his outlook for each sub-market. 

Michael Stoler, president of New York Real Estate TV, moderated the spirited and insightful discussion about development, multifamily, retail and office properties, with questions focused on recent trends, opportunities, potential pitfalls, and the overall state of the investment sales market.

Panelists Eli Weiss, principal at Joy Construction, and Susi Yu, managing director at L&L Mag, shed light on the neighborhoods and properties they currently favor, those they are avoiding, and areas they see as having the potential for growth, from Brooklyn to The Bronx and Queens. 

Paulo Garcia, senior vice president at Mercantil Bank, provided insight on recent commercial real estate financing projects they have undergone, and Soarabh Maheshwari, founding partner at Churchill Real Estate Holdings, conversed about obstacles the market faces, and regions they view as having the most upside, particularly in the outer-boroughs.

All proceeds from the event were matched by Ariel Property Advisors and donated to the nonprofit Legal Outreach. At the event, James O’Neal, executive director of Legal Outreach, shared the goals and objectives of his organization, which helps young people from underserved NYC communities gain admission to the country’s most competitive colleges and universities.

Ariel Property Advisors presents Coffee & Cap Rates semi-annually to share the latest trends in the investment sales market with clients and contacts. The next Coffee & Cap Rates event will be held in February.
