What do you wish more women knew about the opportunities available in the construction industry today? As a finance professional, I have had the opportunity to work closely with some of the most successful leaders in the industry by providing guidance and recommendations to help them make informed decisions regarding their business, while offering my perspective on what opportunities and obstacles I am seeing in the marketplace. It is exciting to be a part of a community filled with trusted advisors, experts and social networks that allow you to build and grow as a young professional.

What is one piece of advice or perspective you would share with women beginning their careers in the construction industry? As a woman in a male-dominated industry, don’t be afraid to ask questions - curiosity is a superpower in this industry. I’ve learned that confidence grows one small win at a time. Say yes to opportunities to grow your network, there are industry associations where you can grow your network, meet industry leaders and build valuable relationships. I feel it is so valuable to have a network of professional woman in the construction industry to provide advice, insights as well as support. There are many great organizations that support woman in the industry that are worth exploring.

What habit or routine helps you stay focused or motivated during a busy week? I like to take a quick walk to give myself a break, renew my energy and come back focused.
