Los Angeles, CA According to Loeb & Loeb LLP, David Barksdale has joined the firm’s real estate department as a partner. Barksdale brings 30 years of experience in real estate finance and development, with an emphasis on loan originations, strategic investments and joint venture transactions.

“Dave is an outstanding addition to our team,” said Raymond Sanseverino, chair of Loeb & Loeb’s Real Estate Department. “With his extensive experience advising lenders, investors, developers and other key players in real estate transactions involving a wide range of asset types, he brings significant depth and momentum as we continue to grow our real estate practice in California and across the country.”

Most recently, Barksdale was a partner at Ballard Spahr where he led the firm’s Private Equity Real Estate Team. He advises lenders, investors, special servicers, and borrowers on complex real estate debt and equity transactions, workouts and restructurings of distressed real estate projects, including CMBS debt, and project finance transactions in the real estate and energy industries. He also represents private equity funds in the investment and deployment of capital. In addition, Barksdale works with real estate developers in the financing, acquisition, disposition, development, and construction of retail, office, industrial, hotel, casino, special-use, residential, and mixed-use properties, including master-planned communities.

Loeb & Loeb chairman Kenneth Florin said, “Dave is a talented deal adviser, well established in his field. There is no doubt that clients and colleagues across our firm will benefit from his deep knowledge of complex real estate financing transactions.”

“Loeb is a unique firm with a very strong position in the real estate industry,” said Barksdale. “This is a great platform to further grow my practice and I look forward to introducing my clients to the outstanding team here.”

Barksdale received his J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law and he is an active member of the CRE Finance Council (CREFC) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI), among other business groups.
