Toyota Material Handling North America and The Raymond Corp. expand energy solutions operations in Broome County

Kirkwood, NY The Agency said that The Raymond Corp., a leader in material handling equipment and intralogistics solutions, continues to deepen its roots in the Southern Tier of New York. Through Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA), comprised of two main companies Toyota Material Handling, Inc. and The Raymond Corp., an advanced energy storage manufacturing facility will be established, bringing growth in this sector along with job opportunities. 

The facility will be a vital extension of Raymond’s existing energy solutions manufacturing operations located in Greene, N.Y., and will provide support to its material handling customers growing needs. This expansion marks another milestone in Raymond’s more than century-long history in the region, underscoring the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation, job creation, and community investment in Broome County and national delivery of solutions.

The Broome County IDA is committed to supporting TMHNA and Raymond’s ongoing efforts to scale its operations and contribute to the region’s long-term economic prosperity.

TMHNA and The Raymond Corp.’s continued success and expansion in Broome County is a prime example of the expanding industrial ecosystem in the Southern Tier.

“We are thrilled to see The Raymond Corporation continue to grow and invest in our region,” said Stacey Duncan, executive director of the Broome County IDA. “Raymond’s expansion not only enhances its operational capabilities but also strengthens the economic vitality of Broome County. The acquisition of these new facilities is a testament to the company’s confidence in the Southern Tier as a hub for manufacturing.”

TMHNA and The Raymond Corp. held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting on Sept. 9th, at their new energy solutions manufacturing facility located at 196 Corporate Dr. 

“With the support of TMHNA, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand our energy solutions operations in Broome County with the establishment of this new advanced manufacturing facility,” said Jennifer Lupo, vice president of energy solutions, supply chain & leasing, The Raymond Corp. “This facility will focus on producing cutting-edge energy solutions, including lithium-ion batteries and TPPL, a next generation lead acid battery solution, to meet the growing demands of our customers. Our commitment to innovation, job creation, and community investment remains as strong as ever.”

“The Raymond Corporation is a global leader in the manufacture of material handling products, successfully operating in Chenango County for over 100 years. I am thrilled that they have decided to expand their operations into Broome County with a new advanced energy storage manufacturing facility. This expansion complements the nation-leading battery technology work being done in our region, and further solidifies Raymond Corp.’s commitment to innovation and job creation. Raymond Corp. has been a well-known staple industry in Greene, for over a century.
