Nassau County executive Edward Mangano and officials of the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA), joined executives of BWD Group LLC and its landlord at a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of BWD's new corporate headquarters. The facility, built through a successful public-private partnership, will enable the company to keep 147 high-paying jobs in Nassau county.
Mangano joined BWD, one of the nation's largest private insurance brokers at the opening of the company's recently completed 70,000 s/f headquarters at 45 Executive Plaza. The property is leased from 45 Exec LLC, an investment group headed by contractor Michael Ambrosino, of East Meadow-based Ambrosino Consultant Corp.
Construction of the project promised to create 35 full-time-equivalent construction jobs.
"Long Island has lost too many jobs to other states. My administration and the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency are working tirelessly to retain employers and keep jobs in Nassau County," said Mangano.
"The IDA was very instrumental in keeping BWD in Nassau County," said Eric Blumencrantz, executive vice president of BWD.

The IDA provided BWD with a property tax PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) program and a sales tax exemption for purchases of equipment and furnishings for the new space.
