  • American Institute of Certified Planners
  • American Planning Association

Which of your philanthropic endeavors are you most proud of?
For over 10 years, I have served as the treasurer for the LI Section of the American Planning Association. This involvement has been an experience that has enriched my career in planning. I enjoy giving back and being part of a group of people dedicated to the planning profession. One of the most rewarding aspects of this volunteer position is my involvement in the annual Arthur Kunz Memorial Scholarship program. The LI Section awards between two and four scholarships to new planners or college students to attend the APA National Conference, which is held in different cities each year and is attended by thousands of planners from around the country and world. For some past awardees, our board has heard that attendance at the conference was a turning point for their life – inspiring them to continue in the field or allowing them to bring ideas back from other parts of the country to improve planning initiatives on Long Island. To be a part of an organization that can be such an inspiration to planners is extremely fulfilling.

What does it mean to you to be a team player?
NP&V is a unique company and I have been fortunate to be a part of this amazing team of professionals since the company was established in 1997, and as a partner for the past fourteen years. My partners and I strive to create a workplace environment that is collaborative and enjoyable for our creative and hard-working staff. It is this type of workplace environment that allows our team to learn and grow professionally and to be inspired by one another – and we have found that it is an important part of NP&V’s success overall and also makes it a great place to work.
