Wong of Castagna Realty elected to LIREG’s executive board

Mineola, NY The Long Island Real Estate Group (LIREG), the almost-400-member philanthropic and networking group, elected real estate executive Alexander Wong to its executive board. 

Wong, a Long Island native and a resident of Huntington, is assistant vice president/director of project development at Manhasset-based Castagna Realty Co.  

Wong joined Castagna Realty, a third-generation, 95-year-old company, in 2011 as a data and financial analyst and was promoted to assistant vice president in 2016. Castagna Realty specializes in the development and management of premier properties, including Americana Manhasset, Wheatley Plaza in Greenvale, 3333 New Hyde Park Rd., in North Hills, the Dealertrack headquarters in Lake Success, and 870, 855, 1122, 1055, 1001 and 1140 Franklin Ave. in Garden City.

Wong, who received a bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010, is an alumnus of Chaminade High School in Mineola, N.Y. He became an Eagle Scout in 2006.

Wong serves on the advisory council of The Viscardi Center and is co-founder and co-director of the Huntington, N.Y.-based 9/11 Heroes Run for the Travis Manion Foundation. In 2015, Wong was named to Long Island Young Professional’s 2015 30-Under-30 class. He is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 4-John F. Kennedy in Huntington.

LIREG, formed in 2004 to encourage networking among Long Island real estate developers, owners and allied trades and to raise funds for charitable real estate-related projects on Long Island, has almost 400 members. Since its founding, LIREG has contributed $1.5 million to numerous real estate-related projects undertaken by charities on Long Island.
