Wechsler joins CBRE as a senior vice president

According to CBRE Group, Inc., Joel Wechsler has joined the company's downtown office as a senior vice president. "During his tenure at CBRE predecessor firm the Edward S. Gordon Company, Joel established himself as one of the industry's premier brokers, and we are most pleased to welcome him back into the fold," said Shelly Cohen, senior managing director of CBRE's Downtown office. "Adding a professional of Joel's caliber further bolsters our Downtown capabilities." Throughout his career, Wechsler has represented many high-profile clients, including Ares Capital Corporation in its 65,000 s/f relocation to 245 Park Ave.; Godiva in its 45,000 s/f headquarters relocation to 333 West 34th St.; Fortress Investment Group in its 115,000 s/f relocation and expansion at 1345 Avenue of the Americas; Stifel Nicolaus in its 60,000 s/f consolidation of its New York City offices at 237 Park Ave., and Arthur J. Gallagher, in its 35,000 s/f relocation to 250 Park Ave. Prior to joining CBRE, Wechsler was with Grub & Ellis. He began his career at The Edward S. Gordon Co., and spent nearly two decades at the firm. He has built strong and lasting relationships with tenants and owners, as well as with buyers and sellers, using his client-focused and results-driven approach. Wechsler resides in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife, Kate.
