The Retail Network holds haunted Halloween networking event at The Woodlands; Best costume was awarded to Arsac of Colin Development and Wolf of NYREJ

The Retail Network scared up some networking excitement this Halloween. Over 200 people from the tri-state retail real estate industry dared to attend TRN's haunted fall networking event at The Woodlands. Party City sponsored the event, which drew in a frightening mix of retailers, brokers, owners/developers, contractors, architects and engineers. Guests had plenty to discuss in TRN's terrifying realm of networking. TRN board members Bill Miller and Nick Andreadis are now with new firms. Bill Miller is vice president of real estate for Au Bon Pain and Nick Andreadis has transitioned to Brixmor Property Group. TRN founder, Jay Siano, recently broke ground on launching a new company, Sabre Real Estate, with Ken Breslin. "TRN continues to grow with each event. The haunted mansion and costumes make this one of our most unusual events to date. TRN's creative events enable our members to stay connected and have fun at the same time," said Siano. Attendees were sure to get noticed, as guests were encouraged to dress up. Best costume was awarded a $1,000 prize. In the end, it was a bewitching tie between Celine Arsac of Colin Development and the New York Real Estate Journal's own Kristine Wolf. In addition to connecting people, the event also succeeded in raising money for the New York City Clothing Bank, TRN's primary charity. Proceeds from the event will assist NYCCB in continuing its mission of distributing new apparel, toys and other goods to New Yorkers in need. The Retail Network is a non-profit organization focused on establishing relationships between key players in the New York Metro retail real estate industry. Established in 2008, The Retail Network has grown to over three hundred active members. The organization's networking events create environments and situations where members connect with the right people in a real and meaningful way. Want to get connected? 2024 Year in Review: William O’Brien, M.C. O’Brien, Inc.

What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts? I would like to say there was an outstanding transaction for me this past year but 2024 was more a culmination of long-term relationships, most of which continued to transact. Deals were smaller in many cases but we saw robust leasing both on the agency side as well as on the tenant side.
