SWBR Architects receives NAIOP industrial award

SWBR Architects was selected to receive a National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) annual award for its work on the renovation of Harris RF Communications Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Henrietta, N.Y. Annually, the NAIOP Upstate New York Chapter recognizes select projects that exhibit creativity, design, functionality, innovation, sustainability and success in the commercial real estate industry. SWBR Architects served as lead architect on the 573,000 s/f renovation and provided architectural, structural, interior design and landscape architecture. The new space functions as a focus factory type manufacturing environment with adjacent supporting offices, conference rooms, research and development labs, warehouse and distribution, and customer product service areas. A key feature of the new space is also an observation area for customers to view products being made. The new design has allowed Harris RF Communications to consolidate all three of its manufacturing units under one roof, improving work flow, efficiency and faster delivery of its products that are deployed all over the world. The Harris RF Communications facility is used to make the world's most advanced tactical handheld communication devices, many of which are used by the U.S. Military.
