In a joint venture with Trevcon Construction, Skanska will build a new facility on the East River called the East 91st St. Marine Transfer Station. The client is the New York City Department of Design and Construction, on behalf of the New York City Department of Sanitation. The total contract is worth $181 million. Skanska will include its full contract amount, $146 million in the order bookings for Skanska USA Civil for the fourth quarter 2012.
Skanska will complete the demolition of the existing facility and access ramp, build a new 8,000 s/m facility, and reconstruct a new access ramp. Work will began in December 2012 and is expected to be complete by March 2016.
